Lake Apopka, Florida’s fourth largest lake, is fed by a natural spring. A former muck farm, the area is a treasure trove of wildlife including bobcats and eagles.

The Loop Trail is 20 miles long and encircles the lake’s edges. There are observation towers, hiking, biking and horseback trails.

There is also a Wildlife Drive that is 11 miles long. It can take as much as 1-3 hours to drive depending on how many times you stop to take epic photographs.

Additionally, along the trails are restrooms, but no drinking water. Be sure to bring a high quality water bottle, like Hydroflask.
