Essential RV Kitchen Accessories That Save Space and Sanity

One of the first things we learned about RV life is that your kitchen makes or breaks the experience. Cooking in a tiny space is completely different from cooking at home. Counter space is limited. Cabinets are small. Everything slides around when you drive.
Over the years, we have tested a lot of RV kitchen accessories — some were great, some went straight to the donation pile. The ones below are the items that earned a permanent spot in our fifth wheel. They save space, stay organized on the road, and actually make cooking in an RV enjoyable instead of frustrating.
The number one tip we can give you: use rectangular containers instead of round ones. They fit into corners, stack better, and waste far less cabinet space. That one change made a bigger difference than any single product we bought.

Storage & Organization
Cabinet space in an RV disappears fast. These RV kitchen accessories are the ones that keep our food organized and our cabinets from turning into chaos every time we hit a bumpy road.

Stackable Can Organizer
This organizer holds up to 36 cans and keeps them from rolling around in your cabinets. Before we had this, every time we opened a cabinet after driving, cans would come tumbling out. Problem solved.

Stackable Storage Bins
Portable, stackable, and they fit perfectly in RV cabinets. We use these for dry goods like pasta, rice, snacks, and baking supplies. The handles make it easy to pull them out without digging through the cabinet.

Magnetic Spice Tins
These magnetic tins stick right to a metal surface or the included wall base. They free up an entire cabinet shelf that used to be dedicated to spice bottles. Gina keeps about 12 of her most-used spices on the wall next to the stove — easy to grab while cooking, and they do not move while driving.

Spice Gripper Clip Strips (Set of 3)
If you have standard-sized spice jars, these clip strips mount inside your cabinet door and hold them securely. Great for the spices that do not fit in the magnetic tins. Uses vertical space that would otherwise be wasted.

Tension Shelf & Rod (Expandable)
This expandable shelf doubles the usable space inside a cabinet. No tools, no drilling — it uses tension to stay in place. We added one under the kitchen sink and another in the pantry cabinet. Instantly created a second shelf where there was only dead space before.

Over the Cabinet Door Organizer
Hooks over any standard cabinet door and holds cutting boards, baking sheets, or lids. Another way to use space that is otherwise completely wasted. Simple, cheap, and effective.

Cookware & Kitchen Tools
Regular pots, pans, and utensils from home do not work well in an RV. They take up too much space and rattle around while you drive. These RV kitchen accessories are designed to nest, stack, and stay put.

Stainless Steel Nesting Cookware Set
This nesting set of 4 pots fits inside each other and takes up the space of one regular pot. Stainless steel, durable, and designed for small kitchens. We replaced all of our regular cookware with this set and have not looked back.

Stainless Steel Kitchen Tool Set
A compact set with everything you need — spatula, ladle, tongs, slotted spoon, and more. Stainless steel holds up better than plastic or silicone when you are cooking every day. One set, one drawer, done.

Sink Cover Cutting Board
Counter space is the most precious thing in an RV kitchen. This oak-finish cutting board sits over the sink and instantly gives you a full cutting surface. When you are done, pull it off and you have your sink back. We use this every single day.

Roll-Up Dish Drying Rack
This metal rack rolls out over the sink for drying dishes and rolls up flat for storage when you are done. No bulky dish rack taking up counter space. It also works as an extra surface for placing hot pots on.

Space-Saving Collapsibles
If there is one category of RV kitchen accessories that changed the game for us, it is collapsible everything. When you are not using them, they flatten down to almost nothing. When you need them, they pop right up to full size. Here are our three favorites.

Collapsible Food Storage Containers (Set of 4)
BPA-free, airtight lids, and they collapse flat when empty. We use these for leftovers, meal prep, and storing produce. When we are driving, they take up almost no space in the fridge or cabinets.

Collapsible Silicone Kitchen Set (Strainer, Colander, Bowl, Cutting Board, Measuring Cups)
This is the Swiss Army knife of RV kitchen accessories. One set replaces a strainer, colander, mixing bowl, cutting board, and measuring cups. Everything collapses flat. If you only buy one collapsible product, make it this one.

Collapsible Sink — 2 Pack (2.25 Gal Each)
Perfect for washing dishes outside at the campsite, soaking pots, or as an extra basin when your RV sink is full. Collapses to about 2 inches flat. We bring these out every time we cook a bigger meal outside.

Trash & Cleanup
Trash in a tiny kitchen adds up fast. You need a solution that holds a bag, does not take up floor space, and can be tucked away when you are driving.

Collapsible Camping Trash Can
Pops up when you need it, collapses flat when you do not. We keep this by the door when we are cooking and flatten it for travel days. Also great outside at the campsite. Way better than trying to hang a grocery bag off a cabinet handle.

Bonus Tip: The Instant Pot Changed Our RV Cooking
If you do not have an Instant Pot in your RV yet, it is worth looking into. It replaces a slow cooker, pressure cooker, rice cooker, and steamer — all in one appliance. We use ours at least 3-4 times a week. Read our full write-up: Instant Pot in RV? Yes!
